1886 C. H. SPURGEON. A Fine 1p Autograph Letter. Superb Framing Example.
A very fine one-page example of a well-preserved autograph letter by Charles Haddon Spurgeon. Partially in his purple ink and partially in black; his usual purple seems to have been failing him.
He seems to replying to a friend and donor that the needs he was requesting support for were met and he has included [not here present] his "effigies," i.e. a humorous way of indicating he has likely sent a couple of carte de visite photographs along with the letter. These are no longer present.
The recipient likely Henry Robert Reynolds, President of Cheshunt College.
Very nicely preserved and boldly signed.
