A shame we don't have the entire forms, perhaps clippedf or confidentiality, but here we have 9 well-known leaders in the late 19th century evangelical world signing and dating reference papers for someone applying to be a missionary with the China Inland Mission. You can see similar examples of the form, which ends with a question of how well they have acquitted themselves in their extant ministry opportunities [printed on the back here] in D. E. Hoste's "A Prince with God" from 1898.
