Here is a wonderful little combination item. It is the first edition of the last work C. H. Spurgeon wrote, published just after his death with a foreword by Mrs. Spurgeon. Then, usually published in plain brown cloth, this copy was finely bound in half leather with raised bands and contrasting morocco labels, the whole being very finely preserved. And, finally, it is inscribed to William Charles Bullock from John Harford Battersby, son of T Harford Battersby, founder of the Keswick Convention, and himself later President of the Convention. A unique association copy finely presented.

Spurgeon, C. H. The Gospel of the Kingdom. A Popular Exposition of the Gospel According to Matthew. London. Passmore and Alabaster. 1893. First Edition.

Half leather, very good condition with minor wear. An exemplary volume.
