1894 THOMAS SPURGEON. Thomas Refers a Sword & Trowel Contributor to His Mother after His Father's Death.
A charming original postcard entirely in the hand of C. H. Spurgeon's son and Baptist divine and author in his own right, Thomas Spurgeon.
Apparently the correspondent has written in an effort to have something placed in the Sword & Trowel. It was not however under his editorship, but under his mother, Susannah's.
A charming little Spurgeon artifact.
"September 5, 1894
Dear Sir,
I have to thank you for your note. With its sentiments I sympathize to a large extent.
I must tell you that I am connected with the Sword & Trowel only as an occasional contributor. The Editor should be addressed at "Westwood" Beuhal Hill, Upper Norwood.
Sincerely Yours,
Thomas Spurgeon."
A bit toned, minor remains of adhesive at corners.
