A pair of rare form and very finely preserved c.1900-1911 late Victorian missionary collection boxes in Bible form.
The first was issued by the Presbyterian Church in Ireland and retains, almost miraculously, all eight lithographed information panels. Some rubbing and could use some light attention, but very attractive, solid, and a very rare example. One information point dating to 1911, so perhaps a 1911 or 1912 issue.
The second, also in Bible form, is also an issue of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland; an earlier design with no lithography and a sliding lower panel mechanism to empty the bank. Very handsome retaining both "spine labels," which appear to be hand-painted.
