1900 THOMAS BOSTON. Soliloquy on the Art of Man-Fishing - Fine Scottish Presbyterian Work.
A really quality, charming production of one of the best little pieces of practical theology we've ever read. Thomas Boston [1676-1732] was a Scottish Presbyterian, a proponent of the Marrow theology, deeply experimental, and became prominent as a pastor, preacher, and theologian even during his 20's.
Of all his works, this is the most charming. Meant to be read in a single setting, it is his mediations on winning persons to Jesus made apparently while out fishing. It's enduring value is certainly underscored by the quality of this edition with its fine binding and printed on laid paper.
Boston, Thomas. A Soliloquy on the Art of Man-Fishing. With an Introductory Note by D. D. F. MacDonald. Paisley and London. Alexander Gardner. 1900.
Very good condition, near fine with only the listed rubbing.
