A rather unusual true first print edition of what came to be known as "Jefferson's Bible." It is perhaps the clearest historical record of what this important Founding Father thought of Jesus, what he found significant, . . . and just as importantly, what he did not.
Jefferson, Thomas. The Life and Morals of Jesus of Nazareth. Extracted Textually from the Gospels, Together with a Comparison of His Doctrines with those of Others. N. D. Thompson Publishing Co. 1902. First Edition. 168pp.
Good - in original cloth, faded from its original green to a rather olive tone. The rear board, for some unknown reason, coated in shellac, thought quite good otherwise. Thus the affordable price. It looks fine on the shelf, but to me, it makes a rather nice candidate for a better Jefferson-themed binding.
