1905 WELSH REVIVAL. Original Autograph Album with 37 Inscriptions from Evan Roberts, Seth Joshua, etc.
This is one of the finest organic Welsh Revival items we have ever handled. Assembled largely in 1905 and 1906, this 8 x 8 inch morocco bound autograph volume includes autograph sentiments by:
Evan Roberts. Of course, the central human figure during the revival.
Seth Joshua. Often considered the forerunning of the revival, hosting extensive prayer meetings in the lead up to the outpouring in 1903.
K. Behesmilan. Leading minister from Armenia who came to Wales to participate and bring the revival spirit back to his country. [See D. M. Phillips' Bio of Evan Roberts]
D. Tudor Jones. Fascinating. He was apparently a relative of R. Tudor Jones who deeply criticized Evan Roberts. But this Tudor Jones was involved and it seems his son was converted and went to Japan as a missionary as a result of the revival.
Owen Evans. President of the Welsh Congregational Union and an supporter and participant in the revival.
Howell Davies of Barry Dock. Leader of the revival at Brechfa Chapel.
Mary Davies. One of the small band of singers who traveled with Evan Roberts and led the revival meetings in song.
Dan Roberts. Brother to Evan Roberts and fellow revivalist.
Rhys Davies. Part of the Baptist contingent of the Welsh Revival, and later author of The Withered Root, on the revival.
William Samuel Jones. "Sam Jones," another Welsh Baptist Revivalist during the movement.
Maud Davies. Often thought of as one of those who started the revival. She and Florrie Evans traveled with Evan Roberts, leading in intercession, etc.,
And more! A few from those involved date from 1910 and into the 1920's, but most from the actual revival period. Exceptional!
