Now here is a gem! This is a piece of printed sheet music published exclusively for distribution and use during the Welsh Revival. It is ink inscribed, from the period, "Choirmaster & Organist." I have never seen and can't trace another example.

The music itself is Joseph Parry's music  set to the Welsh translation of one of the most sung hymns of the revival, Charles Wesley's, "Jesus, Lover of My Soul." In nearly all the early literature, this hymn appears as one of the most often sung in the meetings of Evan Roberts. Perhaps this piece was present in those meetings, but certainly in meetings inspired by the great revivalist.

Fantastic piece of ephemera.

Welsh Revival Tunes. Aberystwyth. Music by Dr. Joseph Parry. English Words by Charles Wesley. Geiriau Cymraeg o'r Geirgrawn (1796). Wrexham: Hughes & Son. Nd. c.1905.

Very good.
