1930's. George Jeffreys. Assemblage of Photos, Books, and Ephemera.
Very nice little grouping of books and ephemera related to George Jeffreys, one of the most influential of the early British Pentecostals. The grouping consists of:
1. Two rare and pristine real photographic postcards dating from the period of his Healing Campaigns, c.1940's. One has what appears to be a facsimile autograph, but I can't locate another example to compare.
2. A small tract: Christ Coming Again, published by the World Revival Crusade.
3. A rare "Hymns and Choruses as used in Principal George Jeffreys' Revival, Healing, and Prophecy Campaigns." Great photograph on the rear off Jeffreys' meetings at the packed Royal Albert Hall.
4. Edsor, Albert W. George Jeffreys. Man of God. The Story of a Phenomenal Ministry. London. Ludgate Press. 1964. First Edition. Hardcover, dj. Good + with some wear and tear to dj, remains of small label on front of dj, else very good and crisp.
5. Jeffreys, George. The Miraculous Foursquare Gospel. Supernatural. London. Elim Publishing Co. 1930. Wraps. This was the second volume of Jeffreys' little Pentecostal theology, the first being doctrinal, the second with examples of supernatural ministry. This belonged to Miss M. B. Carwright, probably the sister of well-known Pentecostal historian and early Elim worker, Desmond Cartwright. Wraps coated in mylar, remains of label on front. A good - copy with some foxing.
