1932 AIMEE SEMPLE McPHERSON. Group of Four Original Photographs for the Press.
A very fine assemblage of four photographs taken for the press of evangelist, Aimee Semple McPherson.
The first shows Aimee in a preaching pose, Bible forward, fist raised, and leaning into the message. It measures appx 4 x 5, has small loss at corner, and has the foredge of the Bible white-lighted for reprint.
The second shows Aimee in the same outfit, probably the same shoot, in a forward facing simple portrait. Same size with minor marks on white.
The third, slightly larger, shows Aimee in full "hallelujah" pose with hands and Bible raised and shouting.
The final is larger, 6.5 x 10 appx, and shows Aimee with her husband, David Hutton, leaving aboard the "President Hoover," with its Captain, Fred Anderson, for their honeymoon trip to Central America and Cuba. They had eloped a year earlier. A bit rippled image very clear. This a later image after Aimee had grown more popular and had lost weight and was dressing quite fashionably.
