Special first edition example of the autobiographical reminiscences of the evangelist who "never lost the wonder of it all." In addition to just being a wonderful read, and a first edition, it has four additional characteristics.
First, it was the copy of Gipsy Smith's close friend, James R. Ogden, who was the head of the Sunday School Union and who traveled with Smith during the campaigns and revivals discussed in the present book. Ogden is mentioned in the text itself multiple times.
Second, it contains a typed letter from Ogden to Gipsy Smith regarding a mix up in Ogden's apparently having sent his own copy of Smith's book as a gift rather than a copy he purchased to be sent. It is neatly laid to the pastedown.
Third, there is a 1p autograph letter entirely in the hand of Gipsy Smith, boldly autographed, to Ogden from Smith.
Fourth, there is a second 1.5pp autograph letter from Gipsy Smith, again boldly signed, to Ogden. A really wonderful item.
