Any years of this official organ of Hudson Taylor's China Inland Mission are rare. This year of particular note as it follows immediately on several prominent martyrdoms and kidnappings of their missionaries [i.e. the Bosshardts, John and Betty Stam, etc.]. Also, Marshall Broomhall was the editor at the beginning of the volume, but falls ill, and passes away. He was, from the beginning, the story-teller in chief of the Lord's doings through the CIM in China.
Superb content, including: In Every Generation. Meditations for the New Year by Marshall Broomhall; Pen Pictures from Changtze [Tent Evangelism, Photographs of Locals]; Extension in Eastern Yunnan; Our Shanghai Letter from Rev. H. M.
