Shakespeare, William. The Works of William Shakespeare [in Three Volumes]. The Comedies; The Tragedies; and The Histories. The Text of the Oxford Edition Prepared by W. J. Craig with a General Introduction by Algernon Charles Swinburne, Introductory Studies by Edward Dowden, and a Full Glossary. London. Oxford University Press. Humphrey Milford [on India Paper]. 1128pp + 1315pp + 1214pp.

Each volume beautifully custom-bound by hand in half polished calf with raised bands and subtle tooling by Charles E. Lauriat of Boston. As an interesting aside, Lauriat's son C. E. Jr. was one of the survivors of the Lusitania, about which he wrote a rather fantastic account. Each volume binder-stamped on blank ffep or rfep. Edges brilliantly burnished in gold.

Very good condition with the slightest of rubbing and minor fade to cloth on boards. The Histories volume has one corner bumped. The Comedies volume has both corners on the rear board just rubbed through to underlayment.

Exceptionally crisp and clean. A wonderful set of these classics.
