1958 SOVEREIGN GRACE PURITANS. 24 Volumes from the Sovereign Grace Book Club. Very Good Assemblage.
A very attractive, matching binding assemblage of 24 volumes published during the 1950's and 1960's as part of the Sovereign Grace Book Club. They were largely responsible for re-introducing the experimental puritan authors of the 17th century into the American Reformed and more broadly Evangelical market.
Volumes Include:
1. An Exposition of John Chapter 17 by Thomas Manton
2-6. An Exposition of the Epistle to the Romans by Robert Haldane, Complete in Five Volumes.
7. An Exposition of the Epistle ot the Galatians by John Brown.
8. An Exposition of Ephesians by Thomas Goodwin.
9-11. Expository Discourses on First Peter by John Brown; Complete in Three Volumes.
12. An Exposition of the Epistle of James by Thomas Manton
13. The Christian in Complete Armour by William Gurnall
14. The Mute Christian, etc. also Apples of Gold by Thomas Brooks
15. The Cause of God and Truth by John Gill
16. Songs of Sovereignty by John Owen
17. The Five Points of Calvinism by Horatius Bonar
18. Temptation and Sin by John Owen
19. The History of Redemption by Jonathan Edwards
20-21. The Saints Everlasting Rest in Two Volumes by Richard Baxter
22. Human Nature and its Fourfold State by Thomas Boston
23. The Returning Back-Slider by Richard Sibbes
24. A Commentary on the New Testament by John Trapp
Overall good to very good condition with very few underlinings, perhaps 1 in 100 pages total and perhaps 50/50 in pencil vs. pen. So something like 1 in 200 pages with pen marks. Not obnoxious. Some usuUnusual assemblage.
