A wonderful and whimsically inscribed copy of one of the classic science fantasy novels of the 20th century.
A finely preserved early imprint and inscribed by L'Engle on the pastedown with the sign off, "With best wishes for happy tessering, Madeleine L'Engle."
Tessering in the book is a way of sort of folding reality so that the point you are in and the one you want to be in are touching, and then using your mind to create a wormhole between the two. A lovely way of making imagination the ultimate mechanism for cosmic travel.

Very good condition. The dustacket has the slightest abrasions at extremities, but remains bright and crisp. One small, closed tear at the bottom of the front toward the spine. The cloth is near fine, remaining brilliantly royal blue as original. Endpapers and text and near fine. A superb example.
