An important late 18th or early 19th century manuscript originating in North Carolina recording the commitment of seemingly a family of slaves, reputedly as runaways and awaiting return to their owner.
This seems likely as slaves were rarely jailed for anything else, especially women.
Includes a woman [here, wench], her two children, two men, and another woman. Perhaps two couples attempting escape.
