Very rare hymnal by one of the most influential advocates of Divine Healing teaching in the 19th century. He was himself a medical doctor, but became convinced that God's healing was available through means [i.e. medicine] and also and often directly through a verifiable miracle.
His Willard Tract Society published more material on Divine Healing than any other of the age, including his own works, those of R. Kelso Carter, Dorothy Trudel, etc., He also began holding meetings on divine healing, which is where A. B. Simpson began to form his convictions on the subject.
The hymnal itself, with its emphasis on the higher life, the sufficiency of Christ and the present Spirit, and the miraculous, is scarce. No copies on the market at present. This copy then with a small inscription, "Yours in him, CCullis" laid to pastedown. I don't recall handling Cullis' autograph before.
