If you have been looking to establish your collection of Tolkien, this is a superb opportunity. This group, in nearly pristine condition, includes many works now long out of print by the Easton Press. While standards like The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings rarely go out of print, many of the other volumes below have been printed but once, and are now long out of stock.

Several of the volumes now fetch $400- 700 each on the rare market, and that is when they are able to be located. If you were to spend the time sorting the volumes down on eBay or secondhand markets, you could easily spend $9,000.00. I added up the actual sold values for each volume from eBay's sold history, and it would be somewhere between $8,500 and $9,500 total for the collection. This present group being offered at nearly 40% off those figures.

Included in the grouping are the following

The volumes in generally fine to "as new" condition. Two volumes have very minor foil transfer from the volume they were shelved next two. Two volumes have surface indentations from being stacked with another volume. This should relax over time. One volume has a light smudge to forege gilding. And one volume has some light rippling to the leather, perhaps from improper adhesion. The Hobbit has a very minor surface crease at the hinge from reading. The vast majority of the volumes were intentionally left as new and for all intents and purposes are unread. The previous owner stored them out of the original plastic, which is what is recommended by Easton. Being stored in the plastic runs the risk of condensation.
