1904 WELSH REVIVAL. RPPC of Evan Phillips and John Williams - Elder Statesmen of the Welsh Revival.

A superb bromide print real phogoraphic postcard from the period of the Welsh Revival [1903-1905] showing the two elder statesmen of the Welsh Revival.

Both Evan Phillips and John Williams had been active as young men in the revivals in Wales of 1859. When the work of the Spirit began in Wales under Evan Roberts, many leveled charges of "enthusiasm." Both Phillips and Williams stepped up and testified that the work of the Spirit of 1903-1905. They noted that the present awakening was very much in keeping with the widely recognized and approved revival of the late 1850's they had participated in. This helped to legitimize the new work. 

Evan Roberts said of Phillips:

In his prayers you felt the challenge in his voice. Nothing could stop him. He embraced God and he was a heavenly-minded man. He produced a God atmosphere in his meetings.
