A very attractively presented and preserved pairing, including an original carte de visite of Edward Irving, housed in a sheet from an antiquarian CDV album of the period. Then, neatly mounted below, an original autograph of Edward Irving as well. 

Edward Irving [1792-1834] remains vastly influential on the modern church, as the primary advocate of both premillennial eschatology and of a proto-pentecostal ecclesiology that was continuationist in practice. His church in London professed regular divine healings, prophetic gifts, etc.,
